Rebecca Turbow has launched her Spring 09 collection. We hope you will visit the site today and view the available collection pieces at
Since it’s inception in 2005, Brooklyn darling Rebecca Turbow’s eponymous label has grown into one of the most intriguing new lines to emerge from New York. Turbow’s clothing radiates modern comfort and practicality, with a clever dash of wit.
Originally achieving attention by designing outfits for musicians like Of Montreal, Japanther, Ting Tings and Yelle, Turbow’s star has steadily risen since her days as dressmaker to her friends in the indie music scene. While sticking to her routes, Turbow turned her private designs into public collections, and has since been featured in WWD, Seventeen, New York Magazine, Rolling Stone and Nylon.
Rebecca takes her inspiration from cult film classics like Who Are You, Polly Magoo? and Logan’s Run, in conjunction with the early 60’s stylings of Andre Courreges, Turbow eschews nostalgic ideas of modern fashion by maintaining an unorthodox approach to color and a whimsical play on the feminine uniform. The result is a concise and well-composed collection, which evokes sincerity and sensuality that is undeniably forward-looking.
